The wind has been blowing nearly nonstop since it woke me up this morning, and I have some sort of headache. I've been watching Malibu Rum commercials and thinking about nicer weather. Mom's car slid down the driveway while it was in park, that's how lousy the traction was yesterday. A UPS truck got stuck right in front of the driveway, keeping mom from getting into the garage until someone came with chains for his truck. I got ready to help, but Mom wanted me to stay inside. No health insurance and all. Dammit.
The guy said he was going to help her get into the garage safely, but he drove off instead, after using some of our salt for traction. Nice. I guess he didn't want to get stuck again, but don't promise something then creep out on it. I guess I understand...no, I don't. He was out there for two fucking hours anyway, would 15 minutes have made a difference? I guess it was the whole "I don't want to get sued/fired/in trouble" justification.
Today mom decided to take a cab to work, and the cab got stuck, then hit the mailbox. Not enough to break it, but still...they hit it. I'm battling cabin fever, and losing. I want to just cry.
Winter can be a frustrating season.
