I lost good money on that class, because I had to pay for it out of pocket, because it's more efficient for a school to let people come to them when they discover something is wrong, than to review things in the first place (That whole spending 6 hours standing in line at financial aid because they suck like that).
During that time, the urge to make anything completely left me. I also started a part time job being a rater for Google through an outside company (once a contractor, always a contractor, I guess.) It's better than having to go to an office I don't like full of people I don't like. So I was trying to get used to working again. That is when my insomnia started to come back with a vengeance. So the summer was kind of, well, fucked up.
School is back in session, and my financial aid situation has finally been worked out, and I'm starting to use up yarn again. I've been crocheting more than knitting. There will be pictures up on Ravelry in the future; one project is nearly done, the other getting close to that.
The other things I've been doing the past five or months:
- I learned most of the rules of the game Koi-Koi, played with cards called Hanafuda (flower cards). It's the Japanese nerd in me coming out, and the cards are really pretty. I'd like to play it against a person one of these days.
- I also recently got back into Mahjong, the Japanese version of it. The four player game, not the solitaire. I usually just play it on my NDS, but I'm thinking of playing online with real people when I learn the rules well enough. I suppose it's like playing poker, and I don't like poker that much, but even with my ignorance, it's a good way to kill time.
- Past two months, crocheting, like I said before;
- Watching movies. I would have watched every Kurosawa movie on Netflix online if I hadn't taken a break from it.
- Listening to Shoutcast stations on my phone, because it's handy. I've had an HTC Incredible since August, and it's awfully fun. I don't talk on it much, though. Seems like such a waste...eh.
- Being generally aimless!
