I'm currently in the midst of an all too short summer break, before more school.
I decided last week that Amy should take more pride in her personal appearance. I get that way sometimes. It's more for me than anyone else.
So, last week, full of bright ideas from watching many YouTube videos in the beauty and fashion section and wandering around amazon.com, I decided to order an epilator.
Yep, I bought a $66 pair of electric tweezers. 72 pairs of electric tweezers, in fact, divided between two rotating heads designed to rip the hair out of your body by the root. BY THE ROOT.
I figured it would hurt like hell, but at least it will be quick (72 tweezers, you know).
The package came on Monday, a couple of days earlier than expected. I washed up and decided to use it on my legs the first time.
I turned the thing on, and it sounded like a weed whacker. I placed the thing over my leg, about an inch from my skin....
...and just sat there, staring at it. I was freaked the hell out. Would I be able to stand the pain?
I switched it off. Then I turned it on again. Couldn't do it, Switched it off again. I went back and forth like this for a good 15 or 20 minutes.
Finally I let out a cry (LET'S DO THIS!!!!!) and wimped out again.
Finally I did actually use it. At first, it hurt, kinda stingy, then the pain started to fade. I'm doing it, I thought, finally! The leg ended up being pretty smooth. I didn't get it completely done (I was more concerned about getting through it than being perfect), but most of it. Yesterday, I even used it to get rid of some unwanted chin hair. It was freaky, because it looked like I was shaving, but it wasn't. It went a lot faster than trying to wax or pull them out one by one. More effective too, and I don't have to buy those overpriced sticky strips anymore.
In short, I'm happy with the epilator. Here is the link to the Emjoi Emagine. Of course they dropped the price the day after I ordered it :P
I guess I'm tougher than I thought.
