I decided I would save my MS Access homework for the weekend, since I dread it like the plague.
I ended up spending this afternoon working on a database that is due Monday, and when I get to the second part of the assignment, it's not in the book. I wondered why the teacher's syllabus looked funny.
After about 30 minutes, I found what happened after I looked at my online book order from the campus store. At the time that I ordered, they didn't have a picture of the cover on the site. I'm not sure why that's so hard to maintain. It's possibly an attempt to keep people from getting a look at the book and buying it somewhere else for less (it never stopped me!). Now that the cover was clearly visible, I figured out the cause of my confusion.
THE BOOKSTORE SENT ME THE WRONG DAMN BOOK!
Damn my sleeplessness. I should have caught this sometime last week, but I did my other homework first, thinking it wouldn't matter, and my other homework involved a lot of writing.
Now I get to spend Monday downtown, with crap parking, so I can bite someone's head off.
Better yet, the website says the book isn't in stock. Fan-fucking-tastic.
I think I can buy an ebook version, but I don't like having to read a computer screen for too long. It makes my eyes tired. The teacher for this class says the second part of the assignment can't be submitted late, and 2 points off each day for the rest of the work. Meaning I can't wait on a paper copy.
Two hours wasted. I will call them and see what they say. Maybe someone will drop the class and they'll have a copy of the book laying around. If not, I buy the online version and hope that my internet connection doesn't go out.
