The sump pump went out today. Mom and I just got finished replacing it an hour ago, but not before we were both sprayed a couple of times from testing to see if the connections were tight enough. Apparently not...but with the help of a neighbor, the water has gone down. The basement floor is wet, and there are some things that got soaked, mostly boxes full of old stuff that needs to go away anyway, like old papers and such. I'm going to have to go down there next week and sort some of it out. As long as there isn't a lot of personal information, I should be able to bag it up and take it to the recycle bin, or find a place that will shred it.
One good thing that came out of this is that I found a pile of old craft books and magazines that I thought were gone. I found them while I was moving boxes away from the water, so at least I have some fun stuff to look over this weekend, what's left of it. It's been a long, long afternoon.
The neighbor brought in a box from Amazon. My manga came. It was just an excuse to get free shipping on an HDMI cable, and they shipped it separately anyway....phooey. I'm so wiped out that I can't really concentrate on reading right now, so I'll save them for next week, when I leave another crappy school quarter behind.
I have a test and some (later than hell) homework to turn in, and my break can finally start. I was going to focus on that today to see if I can get it all done by Monday, but after what happened today, fuck it, just fuck it.
A steaming tub of water awaits me. I'm going to enjoy the rest of my evening.
