Hidee-Ho there!

Another year already? My goodness.

I apologize for being scarce. My time off from school was only semi-productive. I vegged pretty hardcore.

Now that the new term starts at school, I get the itch to make stuff. Instead of doing my homework. One week in and I already feel behind. I could be imagining that, though.

Take deep breaths and let it soak in...

This will be random junk going on in my current time and place.

Umm...

  1. I watched the movie Mamma Mia last night, and found it....very entertaining. I thought I might hate it, but there's not enough dialog between the songs to bore me, so it turned out okay. Pierce Brosnan singing! Killer. Me and mom were flipping through the channels and there was nothing on, and I jokingly clicked on the title. She even watched most of it.
  2. I went with some friends to finally see Avatar in 3D. After hearing mixed reviews, I enjoyed it, probably because I'm a fantasy nerd. Sort of like The Last Samurai or Dances with Wolves with big blue cat-like people in it. Catbois are go =^.^=
  3. I bought a French press coffee maker at Target, because I'm the only one that (occasionally) drinks coffee in the house, and I don't want to drive to the gas station every time I want a cup. A bonus is that I can also brew loose tea in it, which is my usual hot drink of choice. I know what I will be asking for next Christmas! (Tea of the month club, anyone?) I have broken it in with a first pot of coffee, and it was mighty good. Too bad I drank it at 5 in the afternoon...it's not like I sleep that much anyway. It is also crying out for a knit cozy.

Other than that, I've been trying to help my cat keep her food down. After hundreds of dollars for a professional diagnosis, I have taken matters into my own hands:

  • Starve the cat for 24 hours. I mean, put her on a fast;
  • Boil rice and leftover turkey until if falls apart, and run through a crappy blender until it is semi-pasty;
  • Watch cat turn her nose up at it and argue with her like she's people;
  • Treat the scratches received and wait another day for her take a couple of bites when she gets hungry;
  • Repeat for a couple of days;
  • Go to the pet store and buy wheat, corn and soy free cat food that won't make run us into the poorhouse (miracle I found any at a decent price);
  • Wait for a month or two to see if she starts vomiting again.
I'm crossing my fingers here. I'm tired of doing the puke patrol twice a day. I also don't want my cat to have to receive an injection that could give her health problems over the long term if she doesn't have to. I'm hoping this all works out.

Now all I have to clean up is...hairballs.

It's better than it was before! GO ME!!
